What Do You Think About MAXIGAIN?
QUESTION: I recently took a little Mexican vacation and brought back a steroid called Maxigan. What’s your opinion on this stuff?
ANSWER: There are so many things wrong with this question, I’m not sure how to answer it without sending the wrong message. To start, Maxigan is an anabolic steroid intended for use in horses. It’s basically the same as Equipoise (boldenone undecylenate) and is popular with bodybuilders because of its accessibility. Vacation destinations such as Cancun and Acapulco are hubs for obtaining gear, but most buyers opt for human-grade over vet supplies, and they’re easier to find in almost any pharmacy in Mexico. Vet supplies are less likely to be counter- feited than human-grade ones, and Maxigan is very inexpensive compared to real Deca. Costs are about $130 to $200 for 50 milligrams, from what we’re told. Athletes have reported taking 100 to 200 milligrams per week and experiencing solid gains in quality muscle, but of course with it come the usual side effects of prolonged use: acne on your face and/ or back, hair loss, decreased testicle size, increased blood pressure, altered cholesterol production, etc. Now the real problem with this is that although it’s legal to buy steroids without a prescription in Mexico, it’s not legal to transport these medications back to Canada. If you’re caught at customs, you’ll land your ass in jail faster than a fat kid chasing a donut down a hill! Steroids are serious medications that have powerful effects, but we cannot recom- mend that bodybuilders risk their freedom just for muscle gains. You won't make the same gains as you would if you juiced (of course) but if you apply the science of proper training, diet, and supplementation, you won’t have to use steroids to make gains. But the best part is that you won’t risk losing your hair the way I did when I used steroids in my early twenties and you won't risk getting thrown in jail! And unlike the ones you get with steroids, these gains will be permanent.
