Promax Sells Company
After 20 years on the market, Promax Nutrition (makers of the Promax bar) have sold their company to NuGo Nutrition. Promax bars have been around since 1996 and we all have a Promax story. I used to eat boxes of their Peanut Butter bars when I worked for Musclemag! At that time, Promax bars were part of a supplement line called SportPharma USA which carried protein powder, glutamine, creatine and their hugely popular Thermadrene fat burner. They later sold off their supplement line and focussed on the Promax bar business building it up throughout the United States and Canada. Today they turn a new page with NuGo Nutrition as the new owners.
NuGo's CEO David Levine said,
"We recognized that with Promax's great taste and attractive retail pricing, combined with our dedication to the brand and nutrition bar category expertise, Promax has enormous potential for growth."
NuGo Nutrition has been headquartered in Pittsburgh for over 15 years but they're no strangers to company acquisitions. In December 2014, NuGo acquired Gnu Foods FiberLove which they rebranded as Fiber d'Lish. NuGo Nutrition's mission is to help people make healthier snack choices that fit their lifestyle, without compromising on flavor.
