John travelled the world to learn the best training and nutrition principles and trained alongside top pro bodybuilders at Gold's Gym California. He was a student of Arthur Jones, inventor of Nautilus and Medx Fitness machines, and the pioneer of hi-intensity training. John developed the HIT3 Training System, which transformed his physique to win countless bodybuilding competitions at just 18 years of age! He was also the first bodybuilder to utilize Faradic Electric Muscle Stimulation in his training and intermittent fasting during his competition prep. John’s SHREDDED Nutrition Diet helped him build one of the most shredded physiques of all time. His diet program incorporates fasting and nutrient timing to help athletes build lean muscle while losing body fat.

Fasting And Its Effects On Ageing By John Robert Cardillo

David Sinclair is a professor at Harvard Medical School whose research regarding the benefits of fasting has challenged our understanding of aging and how learning and memory are directly affected by degeneration of your nerves. It may fly in the face of traditional “bodybuilding diets,” but Sinclair believes that to achieve maximum health, we shouldn’t be eating three meals a day or three meals plus several snacks.

Starvation will make a person hypoglycemic, and that creates low blood sugar levels that have far-reaching effects on the body. Fasting sends the body into survival mode, and the body will seek energy from fat cells that store glucose as the fuel it needs to operate throughout the day.

Hunger Triggers NAD+

When the body detects a threat to itself, it will naturally stimulate its survival circuit. Some of this involves the release of natural chemicals that support longevity. For example, if you skip breakfast and instead eat a late lunch, your body reacts to the lack of food by producing nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), which enables something called sirtuins to be activated.

What Are Sirtuins?

Sirtuins are enzymes that regulate numerous cellular functions, including aging, inflammation, detoxification, stress resistance, fat and glucose metabolism, circadian rhythms and mitochondrial biogenesis.

How Can You Boost Sirtuins?

Exercise positively affects the activity and/or expression of sirtuins, resulting in better oxidative metabolism efficiency, increased biogenesis and mitochondrial function, as well as maintenance of the antioxidant system. Sirtuins, particularly SIRT1 and SIRT3, can also be activated by fasting and further exhibit their effects in insulin response, antioxidant defense and glycolysis. It is for this reason that I believe intermittent fasting and high-intensity training are two of the most important methods you can use to lose fat while battling the natural aging process.
