Supplement Review XPN Warning 2
Warning: Intense Workouts Ahead
XPN has upped its pre-workout game with Warning 2.0. This pre-workout is part of XPN’s Xtrem Series, which is focused purely on performance supplements. We’re always happy to see a company rework its existing formula to take it from good to great, and that’s what XPN has done with Warning 2.0. Through the addition of new ingredients, Warning 2.0 definitely has the power to power you through your next workout. The only question is, are you ready?
XPN Warning 2.0 Upgraded Formula = Upgraded Results
We weren’t familiar with the first version (Warning 1.0), but the new improved formula has three new additions to make it even better. XPN added L-citrulline, agmatine and synephrine. If you’re been reading muscleinsider.com for a while, you know that the addition of citrulline and agmatine complement any great pre-workout supplement. Specifically, your body converts L-citrulline into L-arginine, while agmatine is a metabolite of L-arginine, all of which work to support the production of nitric oxide for better blood flow. This is a key function of a pre-workout product to ensure efficient delivery of nutrients to the working muscles so you don’t miss a rep. It also gives you that “pump” that we all love.
Get Fired Up
The third new ingredient, synephrine, serves a different purpose. In a pre-workout, synephrine’s primary purpose is to boost energy, especially in combination with caffeine. The 24-milligram dose is on the lower end of the recommendations; however, it’s very effective when stacked with the 200 milligrams of caffeine found in Warning 2.0. When it comes to stimulants, more isn’t always better, and the dose per scoop in Warning 2.0 is effective without overstimulating you. Stim junkies who have burned out their receptor sites (all of us at Muscle Insider need to raise our hands now) can just double scoop it. We tried this product single scooped and double scooped, and it was effective with either method. There’s a point with any good pre-workout where the higher dose doesn’t make it that much more effective. Warning 2.0 is hard-hitting at one scoop.
Muscle Growth Ingredients in XPN Warning 2.0
Warning 2.0 goes beyond the average pre-workout formula that’s just a load of stims and some nootropics with the inclusion of 3 grams of beta-alanine and 500 milligrams of creatine monohydrate. Where typical pre-workouts focus solely on boosting energy and focus, Warning 2.0 does that and more. These two ingredients are clinically proven to help you build more muscle while also providing a proven performance boost without the use of stimulants! This helps your body to perform more reps by respectively helping the body reduce lactic acid and produce more ATP (energy). Through these two mechanisms, an athlete is able to work harder for longer, increasing the likelihood of adding new muscle tissue. The dose of creatine is a little low, but many athletes already supplement with creatine and should continue to do so to maintain beneficial stores in the body.
Vitamins Added
The ingredient list is rounded out with a handful of vitamins that support the immune system as well as ATP production and muscular bioenergetics. For example, it’s dosed up with vitamins B6, B3 (niacin), B9 (folic acid), and C (ascorbic acid), which aren’t usually ingredients in a pre-workout formula, but we’re asking, “why not?” The benefits are perfectly suited to a pre-workout, such as the creation of red blood cells, aiding tissue repair and higher levels of energy, as mentioned. Plus, users get the additional health benefits of vitamins—and we’re in full support of that!
Each 12-gram scoop delivers almost 8 grams of active ingredients for a powerful formula, with each tub delivering 30 servings (as one scoop), which is the recommended serving size. We don’t always follow the directions when it comes to pre-workouts, but you should!
XPN Warning 2.0 Comes in 5 Flavours
Warning 2.0 comes in five fruity flavours: Pink Lemonade, Peach Cocktail, Green Apple, Blue Raspberry and Fruit Punch. Taste is very individual, but you can’t go wrong with any flavour; our top pick was the Peach Cocktail. Mix one scoop with 10 to 12 ounces of liquid at least 30 minutes before starting your workout to make sure the ingredients have hit your system. If you eat a meal close to your workout, you’ll need to take Warning 2.0 earlier because the food in your stomach will slow down the gastric emptying and delay the speed of absorption. We never recommend eating within two hours of training (ideally), but sometimes that’s not possible due to work, school or that date you had just before training legs! But the important thing is to take a full serving of Warning 2.0 at least 30 minutes before training and get ready to feel a good rush of energy from your warm-up set to your very last rep.
