Do you work out on a regular basis and still don’t see the results you want? You’re not alone. Many frustrated people are in the same situation. But why? What are they doing wrong? Well, it could be a few things.

From our experience with clients, we can tell you that most people don’t train hard enough. Magic will only happen when you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone, and not too many people go there. Why? Simply because it’s extremely hard to push your body where it needs to go. Training is as much mental as it is physical, and your body will only go where your mind will push it.

How do you get your mind to do what needs to be done? Think of fitness as an investment. The more you’ll put in, the more you’ll get out, and the harder you work, the better you get! Ask yourself: Why waste all this time and energy if nothing is happening? Be in it all the way! No more skipping workouts or postponing till next time! No more talking between the sets, texting on your iPhone, or updating your Facebook status at the gym (we know people who do that, and we’re sure some of you are guilty of this as well). You’re there for one reason, and the reason is to get better by working harder. A proper workout shouldn’t take more than one hour if done properly. If you can train more than that, you aren’t training hard enough!

Don’t be afraid of trying different routines or training styles! Get outside of the box! Instead of doing chest on Monday as you’ve done for the last few years, try something different. This one goes out specially to all of the hardcore lifters who think traditional training is the only way to go. Many think that boot camp, CrossFit, or circuit-style workouts will burn your hard-earned muscles. Nothing could be further from the truth! Actually, the opposite might happen! Your body adapts quickly, and by adding this type of resistance training to your routine, you will confuse your muscles to new growth. This technique works best with seasoned lifters. You’ll also get leaner and more conditioned for heavy lifting. We can tell you it works firsthand as personally we got awesome results from it! Another great thing about this type of training is that you don’t have to do as much cardio. This style of training will speed up your metabolism and torch your fat like crazy! But remember, it’s still resistance training, and in order for it to work, you must lift as heavy as possible! This is hardcore! You have to push hard! Try adding one or two workouts like this per week to your routine, and you’ll love the results! The combinations are endless! You can pick a body part or two and do a few traditional exercises in a row without any break and add undulation ropes or sandbags in between for more endurance. You could do a full-body workout with minimal rest between the sets, mixing compound and isolation movements. By incorporating nontraditional equipment, you will work your muscles a little differently, and the balance needed will work all your stabilizer muscles as well!

Remember to warm up and do your exercises properly. Bad form is never good. Train insanely, but watch yourself. Safety comes first! Also, don’t forget to take proper time off. You have to train hard, but you also need a proper amount of rest for recuperation between workouts.

"Properly stimulated muscles will experience deep soreness within 24 to 48 hours after the workout. The soreness should last for 5 to 7 days. The significance of this soreness is that muscular growth has been stimulated and the muscle is now repairing itself. The repair process must not be interfered with by training the muscle before it is fully recovered." - John Cardillo, Canada's Premier Fitness Expert & Champion Bodybuilder

Taking time off from the gym as well as getting a proper amount of sleep is extremely important. For most people, at least seven hours of sleep is a must. Become passionate about the workouts you do. Train as hard as you possibly can, and you will achieve your fitness goals! You will feel accomplished when that happens, and believe us, nothing feels better than that! Train hard. Live well.
