Sponsoring Shows
Q. You’re one of the largest supporters of the IFBB in the industry. How long have you been sponsoring shows?
A. I’ve been in the industry for three decades and have been sponsoring shows since 1988, when I sponsored my first show in Virginia. My shows lasted for 18 years, and the Jan Tana Classic, at that time, was the largest pro show in the world, and I also hosted the Masters Mr. Olympia.
I realized I’d be more effective working directly with the athletes at other shows and now have a large tanning team that travels all over the world airbrush tanning athletes, doing hair and makeup, and providing onstage jewellery. I sponsored the first Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, and have sponsored that show and worked with Arnold for 24 years.
