Is Creatine HCL Worth The Money?

Q. Is creatine HCl really worth the money?

A. That’s an easy one—yes! Well, at least in my opinion, it’s worth the money. I’m a huge fan of creatine hydrochloride (HCl), which is often referred to as “concentrated” creatine. The reason it got tagged with the moniker “concentrated” is that a much smaller dose is needed compared to old-school creatine monohydrate. The big advantage creatine HCl offers over all other forms of creatine is greater solubility. This means it can be dissolved and absorbed with a much smaller amount of liquid. This is why creatine HCl doesn’t cause any GI issues, bloating, or water retention. In fact, research shows that creatine HCl’s improved solubility allows for nearly 50 percent greater oral absorption compared to creatine monohydrate and buffered creatine! Before I was introduced to creatine HCl, the only form of creatine I would ever use was Creapure® creatine monohydrate. But after the results I’ve been getting with creatine HCl, I don’t see myself going off it any time soon. Although creatine HCl is a little bit more expensive than other creatine supplements, it’s worth the extra coin.
