Burnaby, British Columbia is home to BioX which is one of the oldest sports supplement company in the game. Established in 1988, BioX has made a business by producing low-cost supplements in the basic commodity-type categories. They’ve got glutamine, creatine, basic protein powders, but they’ve also been in the bar game since the mid nineties during the Met-Rx days with their original BioX bar!
BioX Muscle Amino
Their latest product we've seen from BioX is an EAA containing supplement which is being marketed as a powdered version of their RTD (Muscle Amino). The formula is not idential to the RTD but contains 10 amino acids in total, 9 of which are essential amino acids and they’ve added glutamine which is a conditionally essential amino. Each 11 gram serving contains 6 grams of EAAs which is 55.4% EAAs by weight. Muscle Amino comes in 2 sizes, the first is a 550 gram size which delivers 50 servings. The second is a 200 grams size which delivers approximately 18 servings. So far it looks like it comes in Blue Raspberry, Refreshing Orange, and a Citrus Twist. We haven’t tried BioX Muscle Amino so we don’t know how it tastes, how well it mixes or anything like that, but hopefully the folks at BioX will send us a few bottles to test drive!
