New IFBB Pro Show Coming To Canada in 2021
The Vancouver Island Showdown is bringing IFBB Pro Women's Bodybuilding & Women's Pro Physique To Victoria, B.C. and will be known as the Vancouver Island Showdown Pro/Am moving forward.
Influential Sports Inc is proud to announce that the Vancouver Island Showdown Pro/Am, in conjunction with the IFBB Pro League and the Canadian Physique Alliance, will feature IFBB Pro Women's Bodybuilding & IFBB Pro Women's Physique competitors on stage for the first time ever in Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Ron Hache, President of the Canadian Physique Alliance and Promoter of the Toronto Pro Super Show had this to say,
“We’re happy to see Corey and the Vancouver Island Showdown team bring both Women's Pro Bodybuilding & Women's Pro Physique to Victoria, B.C. The Vancouver Island Showdown Pro/Am on June 26th 2021 will complement the Vancouver Pro Show in offering the divisions it does not have and complete all the pro divisions offered on the west coast in a given year. This unites Canada in offering IFBB Pro categories in all divisions of competition covering both the East and West coast of Canada. Corey is recognized as one of our top promoters in Canada and as such, the CPA along with the IFBB Pro league are confident of the success and future growth of this event.”
The first ever event looks forward to featuring the best Canadian & International IFBB Pro Women's Bodybuilding & IFBB Pro Women's Physique competitors competing for a chance at an Olympia Qualification. The Vancouver Island Showdown has been a fixture in Victoria, B.C. since 2015 as a regional qualifier with the Canadian Physique Alliance. This tradition will continue in addition to the IFBB Pro league event.
The Vancouver Island Showdown Pro/Am could not have been possible without the dedication and efforts of many individuals. Owner Corey Swiergosz is quoted as saying,
"The continued support of the fitness industry in Victoria, B.C. has allowed us to be in a position to host a world class event with the best women's competitors in their respective classes".
Until recently, Canada has only had 2 stable annual IFBB Pro shows; the Toronto Pro SuperShow and Vancouver Pro/Am with another two events in Ontario introduced within the last two years; the Niagara Pro/Am and the Ben Weider Natural Pro/Am. All 4 of these events were scheduled to take place this past year, but were cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. The Vancouver Island Showdown Pro/Am will make it 5 IFBB Pro League events taking place annually in Canada.
