Garry Bartlett Internationally known Fitness Author & Photographer and President of the New Brunswick Physique & Figure Association sends us news that New Brunswick will be the first province in Canada to introduce the newly created Women’s Physique Division in their provincial competitions.

I am very excited to be the first province in Canada to add this new women’s physique division to our competitions. In recent years we have seen a decline in women’s bodybuilding since figure competitions have become very popular. A lot of women want to compete but don’t want to build the huge muscles required to win a National Championships. They are not willing to jeopardize their feminity to do what it takes to achieve the kind of look necessary to win or become a Pro women’s Bodybuilder. Now that figure competitions have eliminated the one piece round with only the two-piece left, many figure competitors may be looking for a bigger challenge. Our first test of this new division will be at this springs Atlantic Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 14th. The division will be open to all figure competitors. As part of the competition they be required to perform several mandatory poses along with a 60 second posing routine in high heels.

I have made a few adjustments to the official IFBB rules where we will be having the girls pose in high heels and the division will be officially named Physique Model. It is going to be a fun division. How can anyone argue against a division that has beautiful toned girls posing in high heels?

Garry makes some good points and MUSCLE INSIDER totally supports this new category for a number of reasons. Just go to http://muscle-insider.com/content/womens-physique-division to see why. In fact, we are one of the sponsors of this springs Atlantic Championships.
