Industry legend photographer and film maker Alex Ardenti gave us a tip on a new bodybuilding comedy series coming out on HBO.
It seems a new light will be shone on the world of bodybuilding. “Blue Valentine” director Derek Cianfrance has signed on with HBO to produce a half hour bodybuilding comedy that will be based on the life of Sam Fussell and his memoir Muscle: Confessions of an Unlikely Bodybuilder. To fans of bodybuilding and those who have competed you may not think comedy can be interspersed with this sport, but the telling tale of Sam Fussell has proved otherwise as the book has quite the cult following from the bodybuilding enthusiast to the outsider looking in. Cianfrance says the show will “give new meaning to the word character development.” We look forward to seeing what HBO and Cianfrance have in store for us.
