More Events Announced for the Olympia Weekend

With all of the hype and publicity going to the actual Mr. Olympia physique competition, often the expo and accompanying sporting events that take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center are overlooked. If you’ll be in Vegas for the weekend anyway, and are looking for something other than tanned, half naked, IFBB Pro bodies, then consider visiting the dozens of sports taking place at the LVCC within the Expo hall, on September 16th and 17th, 2016.

Karate - AAU Karate comes to Olympia for the first time in 2016 with a fast moving event that showcases America’s best karate athletes against the World. From the beginners to world class competitors, this event promises to present the highest level of karate competition for everyone to enjoy.

Bikini Model Search and Men’s Model Search - The Olympia Weekend is proud to announce the 2016 FLEX Magazine’s Bikini and Men’s Model Search. The contest will be held at the Olympia Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall on Friday, September 16 (Judging) and Saturday, September 17 (Finals). Contestants will be judged on shape, tone, symmetry, poise and overall beauty/appearance. Contestants will be judged individually and in group comparisons.

Boxing - You’ve seen it on television and some of the world’s largest stages. Now it’s time to experience USA Boxing firsthand at Olympia. Assembled from local gymnasiums and training centers across the country, America’s hungriest amateur boxers will fight for their place in history. Bout after bout will showcase the best that America has to offer which is why boxing at Olympia is a must see for all true sports fans!

Jiu Jitsu Grappling - Combining a variety of ancient martial arts techniques, jui jitsu grappling at Olympia promises to be a display of brains and brawn for all ages. Athletes from across the nation will test their skills and stamina in this sport that can only be described as a chess game on the mat. Constantly maneuvering for position, athletes must work hard mentally and physically to gain the upper hand. Don’t miss this event as some of America’s finest athletes grapple for the gold.

Kickboxing - WAKO Team USA Kickboxing will be hosting this year’s  US National Kickboxing Championships at Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 16th & 17th, 2016. WAKO is the largest Kickboxing Organization in the world. WAKO is presenting this sanctioned event as a US National Championship featuring some of the best amateur Kickboxing athletes from around the world.

Rhino Crossfit - For the fifth straight year, Rhino CrossFit is bringing the 'Sport of Fitness' to the Olympia Expo! This year, competitors will be testing their ability to hoist heavy stones over their shoulders, farmer carry heavy tires, jump over walls, slam balls, and thrust barbells until they drop. You're invited to compete for your share of $5,000 in prize money, and the title of Rhino CrossFit Champion!

Olympia Strongman Challenge - Strongman Corporation is returning to Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend for the seventh time in a row - with new competitions and titles, such as America's Strongest Masters, which includes current professional athletes Brad Dunn, Van Hatfield, Nick Best and more.
Plus, there’s the North American Strongman Master Championships! Can current champions Ken McClelland and Marc Bevins can defend their titles while competing against the best in America. The 2016 titles will hold a lot of weight including a possible invite to the Master’s World’s Strongest Man.
