Kai Greene Did NOT Get A Guest Invite To Compete In Olympia

Print Share this

Earlier this week, Muscular Development did a video with Ron Harris announcing that Kai Greene received a special guest invite to compete at the 2019 Olympia. This came as quite a surprise to fans because we’ve all wanted to see Kai Greene step back on the Olympia stage for many years. With Shawn Rhoden now as the current reining Mr. Olympia champion and Phil Heath not scheduled to compete this year, a battle with Kai Greene and Shawn Rhoden would make for a phenomenal storyline for the Olympia. MUSCLE INSIDER’s Domenic Mauro contacted Chief Olympia Officer Dan Solomon to confirm the rumour and it turns out to be not true. Kai Greene did not get a guest invite to compete at the Olympia this year. So if Kai wants to compete at the Olympia, he would have to qualify just like every other competitor by winning am IFBB pro show or by acquiring enough points by competing and placing well in pro shows as part of the Olympia’s qualification series. We have no doubt that if Kai Greene were to compete in any pro show this season, he would have a very good chance of winning. Especially if he can come in to the condition that we used to seeing Kai compete in. He certainly has the mass and shape and we would love to see that happen but at this time there’s no special circumstances for Kai.

We didn't write this to take a shot at Muscular Development for reporting on this inaccuracy or throw Ron Harris under the bus because he does an amazing job, but fans need to know the truth. Unless Kai competes, he has no chance of being on the Olympia stage as a competitor this year. Muscle Insider will continue to give you the Olympia storylines right here at muscleinsider.com and on all our social media platforms.
