Jeremy Buendia Makes Comeback!

Four-time men's physique Olympia Champion Jeremy Buendia has announced that he is coming out of retirement and will be competing at the 2020 Mr. Olympia. What’s shocking to fans is that Jeremy seemed very sure that he would be retiring from competition at the conclusion of the 2018 Olympia. It looks like Jeremy has had a change of heart and will be making a return to the Olympia stage but with a twist. Instead of training with Hany Rambod, who has been a trainer of his for many years, Jeremy has decided to train with the Oxygen gym crew based in Kuwait and will be under the tutelage of top trainer Abdullah.

Jeremy plans to go to and live in Kuwait to be part of the “Camel Crew” and train out of Oxygen Gym owned by Bader Boodai. Bader Boodai and Abdullah currently work with Brandon curry the reigning Mr. Olympia champion but they were also very instrumental in training many top names including Big Ramy, Roelly Winklaar, Shawn Rhoden and Regan Grimes to name a few. We’ve seen the oxygen crew add a tremendous amount of size to one’s physique with the training, nutrition and supplementation that they prescribe, but the question is, will they be able to keep the aesthetic physique and small waist needed to compete in the men's physique division? The men's physique division has slowly evolved and athletes like Andre Ferguson and the 2018 Mr. Olympia men's physique champ Brandon Hendrickson have a tremendous amount of muscle which has redefined the division to one that looks like bodybuilding with board shorts. We just hope that Jeremy doesn't ruin the aesthetics of his physique while in the quest for size. The men's physique class just got a whole lot more exciting and we're happy to see Jeremy Buendia returning to the Olympia stage.
