GoodLife Fitness is the largest gym chain in Canada and the fourth largest in the world. With more than 400 clubs, including GoodLife Fitness, Fit4Less and Éconofitness Clubs, the company employs approximately 12,000 employees and has more than 1.5 million members! To put that into perspective, 1 in 25 Canadians train at a Goodlife owned gym. But since the hit of Covid-19.Goodlife has been immensely impacted. It’s also been the gym that all other gyms are watching to see how they handle the reopening. With British Columbia allowing gyms to reopen, Goodlife has taken significant measures to help reduce the spread of Covid-19. Unfortunately, a member infected with Covid-19 has been training at their Burnaby Northgate location, between June 22 and July 3. The infected person hasn't been at the fitness centre since July 3rd, but the location is still allowed to remain open which has some people outraged.

"We are following the guidance from the local public health authority, which is to inform anyone who may have been in the club during the specific time frames of the possible exposure and advise them that public health has asked that they monitor for symptoms…we have not been advised to close our facility or prevent members who may have been in the club at the same time to refrain from working out in our club."

said Tracy Matthews, vice-president of operations for GoodLife Fitness. She added that Fraser Health has advised the gym that the risk of transmission is “small.”

Vancouver Strip Bars Also Affected By Covid-19

With so many gyms being closed, strippers have had a really hard time keeping the pounds off and maintaining their lean, muscular, sexy bodies. Okay stop drooling guys, this is serious! There have also been recent advisories about possible Covid-19 exposure at Vancouver strip clubs including the No. 5 Orange Strip Club, Brandi’s Exotic Show Lounge and at the Belmont Hotel in downtown Vancouver. We can’t confirm whether or not any of the dancers or the hooting and hollering men at these establishments also trained at Goodlife.
