With a bag of mixed emotions for both IFBB Pro Rob Belisle and his fans, it was announced on Wednesday December 4 2013, by Rob himself, on his facebook page that he will retire from bodybuilding at the end of the 2014 competitive season. After 26 years of hard work, dedication and leaving a mark on the Canadian and IFBB Pro scene, Rob who will turn 50 next year decided it is time to hang up his posing trunks and live his life doing the sports and activities he used to participate in prior to competing, as well as spend time with his wife Asha and their daughter.
The following is the message that was posted by IFBB Pro Rob Belisle:
"I'd like to thank everyone who supported me and not throughout the last 26 years.
So I've decided that 2014 will be my last competitive year. I plan to do few shows and then hang the trunks up. I was 24 when I started competing and next year will be 50 so I've had enough. 26 year career. I've had a great career and wouldn't change a thing. Being this heavy is not fun anymore. I will still be trai...ning and watching my clients reach their goals. I do plan on getting back down to the 180's -190's but a ripped cardiovascular machine. I want to play goal in hockey again since I can't fit in my equipment anymore lol and I sure miss golf and martial arts . I trained in tai-chi, pag wa, hung gar and wing chung Kung fu. I also like to get back to Tai Chi again. The main thing is I want to spend last 25 some years with my wife and watch my beautiful daughter grow up....
Thank you !!!"
Muscle Insider and myself would like to extend our thanks to Rob for all he has done for the sport of bodybuilding and wish him the best of luck for the 2014 season, as well as the best of luck in what will be his new found "freedom" as he starts a new adventure with retirement.
