MUSCLE INSIDER Selects Best Protein Chef Winners

June 2017 — Toronto, Ontario — Over the last six months, MUSCLE INSIDER has teamed up with sports supplement giant Optimum Nutrition to launch the Best Protein Chef Challenge. The premise of the competition was to search across Canada for the best chefs in the fitness industry who could make healthy, irresistible, mouthwatering shakes, snacks, meals and desserts loaded with protein.

The program was an unbelievable success, finding 10 exceptional chefs and then going behind the scenes every day for six weeks to document their protein creations as they showed the world their most delicious recipes on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and YouTube.

The grand prize winner this year was Bayan Sharafi! As a result of his hard work, incredible recipes and the feedback he received from people trying his recipes, he will be given a one-year editorial contract with MUSCLE INSIDER, his own recipe column MONTHLY on Muscle-Insider.com, and the prestigious award of Best Protein Chef! In addition, Bayan will also win a trip Glanbia Performance Nutrition’s Sports Nutrition School in Downers Grove, Illinois! He won the content because didn’t just stick to the typical “protein pancake” and smoothie recipes; he took it to the next level and made recipes that included guacamole, soup, fried chicken and a host of other truly innovative protein creations.  That’s what made his content so unique: the fact that he was able to incorporate protein into so many diverse recipes! He wow'd us considerably on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube!

Asked why he thought he’d be a good fit for the competition, Bayan says,

“Because making creative, magically delicious protein food recipes is what I love doing. Every day for the last year and a half, I would take time to brainstorm and come up with the most creative combination of foods to make healthy dishes or protein snacks that would fit your macros, make your mouth water and supply you with immense flavour. I didn’t know there was such thing as a Best Protein Chef Challenge, and when I saw that MUSCLE INSIDER was hosting this kind of competition, I got extremely excited and full of butterflies, because this is something that I could actually win because of how passionate I am about it. I’m ready to take it to the next level and make some life-changing, healthy creations!”

The second place award went to “Barbell Cowgirl” Sarah Connors, and the second runner-up was “Sweet Gainz” Melanie Pavao.
