2nd Annual FREAK Fitness Client Appreciation Weekend Celebration

On the weekend of November 28-30th, Muscle Insider Columnist and Contest Prep Expert Darren Mehling, and his wife, IFBB Pro Christina Mehling, hosted their 2nd Annual FREAK Fitness Client Appreciation Weekend Celebration, aptly nicknamed “FREAK-a-palooza”.

The weekend started at the Assiniboine Athletic Club, in Winnipeg, with SD Pharmaceuticals training video shoots starring Darren, Christina, and fellow SD Pharmaceutical sponsored athletes Karen Gauvreau and Aeryon Ashlie. Darren had the female athletes, all who also are FREAK Fitness athletes, blast their backs, destroy their delts, power through plyometrics, and smash some conditioning work. There was swearing, cursing, sweating, and maybe even some puking. It was very clear why Darren is known as the “Freak Maker”.

“One of the many things that help FREAK Fitness athletes stand out is their work ethic,” Darren said between sets. “FREAK Fitness athletes know that their bodies will only progress if there is a need to so I preach intensity. Minimal effort will only yield minimal results so anything else less than 100% is a waste of time.”

The weekend festivities continued with the FREAK Fitness Client Achievement Party. Darren and Christina booked an entire night club in Winnipeg for their clients to enjoy an evening of reflecting, review, and a lot of celebrating. FREAK Fitness clients from all over the country came to join their FREAK family and danced the night away to a select song list chosen by FREAK athletes. This year’s celebration was made even more special as the FREAK family achieved a landmark 300 top-3 placings during this competition season.

“300 top-3 placings was a goal that Darren and I set for our team at the beginning of this competition year,“ Christina admitted. “We knew we were aiming high but we knew our FREAKs could rise to the challenge. We are very proud of our team for coming through. Our FREAK athletes earned the highest one season number of Novice, Provincial, and National titles in the history of our company and as a result we hit our goal of 300.”

Darren added, “With the FREAKs we already have training for shows in the upcoming 2014 season we predict our team will continue to break more records!”

The FREAK-a-palooza weekend ended with the FREAK Fitness Exercise Performance & FREAK Mindset Clinic at the Assiniboine Athletic Club, in Winnipeg. In front of the 46 participants who attended, Christina and Darren demonstrated how to perform squats, deadlifts, rows, and presses; and how to transfer key body positions in those movements to gain maximum benefit and safety in many other exercises. The day finished with a review of the fundamental elements of the FREAK Mindset and how the participants could apply it in achieving success in the gym, on stage, and in their everyday lives. One of the FREAK Fitness athletes in attendance at the Clinic was Pharmafreak sponsored athlete, and two-time CBBF National Fitness Champion Brittany Kanne.

“Even with over 10 years of athletic training under my belt, Darren and Christina were still able to show me some new ways on how to improve my exercise performance that I can apply in my workout tomorrow.” After the FREAK Mind-set review, Brittany was all fired up, “Now that I’m training to compete at the upcoming Arnold Amateur in March, this was perfect timing for Darren’s motivational speech. It’s just another reason why I train with FREAK Fitness.”

As the weekend demonstrated, Darren and Christina continue to lead the way in providing the best for their clients.
