We think it’s safe to say that 2020 has turned out to have been a pretty big year for James Hollingshead, earning his Mr. Olympia qualifications in both 2020 and 2021. In October we saw Hollingshead win the Europa Pro Show, which was his first victory as a pro. This earned him the qualification to compete at the 2020 Mr. Olympia. Just a short time later, James took the top spot at the British Grand Prix, already earning him an invite to the Mr. Olympia competition in 2021.
Hollingshead took to YouTube to share with us what his plans are, for moving forward after winning the Europa Pro Show. With a level of vulnerability that we don’t often see from hardcore bodybuilders like James, we really see the level of impact he felt from the loss of Luke Sandoe. Now left with the decision whether to compete at the 2020 Mr. Olympia or go hard and work for his 2021 Olympia qualification.
We learn that his plan going forward is to focus on improvements this year, so he can work to place in the top 6 at the 2021 Mr. Olympia. He goes on to share his plans for PCT (Post Cycle Therapy), as well as nutrition and training goals. He is looking forward to a full offseason with his coach Patrick. We are excited to see what this improvement season will bring for his 2021 stage appearance.
“I want to go to the Olympia, and I want to crack top six, I do,” Hollingshead explains. “A lot of people will hear that and think it’s not realistic but if I spoke a year ago about winning two pro shows in a row, most people would have said I wouldn’t win one.”
