“WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE DELTS BUILDER AND WHY?”

WAYNE CHAMBERS, IFBB PRO, SAYS: ““My favourite go-to shoulder exercise is dumbbell rear flyes. This single exercise will help you gain strength and add an overall fullness to your rear delts. Want capped shoulders? Too often do we start our routines with shoulder press, which targets mostly front delts. Try firing off your shoulder day with this exercise and watch the pump and burn build before your eyes!

BIG RON PARTLOW, BODYBUILDING CHAMPION, SAYS:
I like the standing dumbbell side lateral. Sometimes I’ll do up to 8 sets [of 6 to 20 reps] of them just because there are so many different ‘feels’ I can get just by moving my arm position around a bit. This exercise is also great for doing drop sets, partial reps, cheat reps, rest/pause, and iso-holds. Try using all of those techniques in the same set

ANTH BAILES, IFBB PRO, SAYS:
My favourite shoulder exercise is barbell presses to the front. It’s a good basic power movement that I feel hits the whole deltoid, not just the front head. It’s also much safer than presses behind the neck,
which can be very hard on the rotator cuffs!

RENALDO GAIRY, IFBB PRO, SAYS:
“My favourite shoulder exercise has always been dumbbell shoulder presses, and I use it as my main builder for the delts. Using dumbbells, I always feel a more direct load on my shoulders and a better contraction versus the barbell. Also, I make better strength gains using dumbbells in this exercise.
