The Bodybuilders Creed

The air in the gym is thick
With the smell of pain and sweat.
The gym is filled with the sounds
Of curses, moans, and threats.

Changing the iron plates,
He sets his stance
Blood pounding throughout his body,
This is the one thing not left to chance.

Lift, count, sweat, rest,
It’s all a part of a rhythm.
Straining his body to lift the bar,
With all the strength God can give him.

The bodybuilder deserves respect
Because he greatly respects his health.
His greatest pleasure is pumping iron,
His muscles are a kind of wealth.

He has guts and determination
Most of what it takes,
He will lift the iron,
Until his muscles burn and ache.

But he won’t give up - he is a fighter
It’s a habit he can’t stop.
He can’t be satisfied until
The man has reached the top.

Until he can raise his arms in triumph,
And claims the title of number one.
Grasping his trophy in his hand,
Proving the job well-done.

He is not just a man,
He is the boldest of the bold.
He is a legend in his time.
He is worth his weight in gold.
