For the second year in a row, MUSCLE INSIDER has teamed up with supplement giant BSN to search Canada for its best trainer and award him or her with the auspicious opportunity to represent BSN as its brand ambassador, as well as be featured in the pages of MUSCLE INSIDER magazine. Trainers were given thousands of dollars worth of BSN products and swag and were challenged to see who could get the absolute best results with their cleints.

The results are in and we have a winner! A huge congratulation is in order for the newest member of the BSN ambassador team, Roni Davis, from Baddeck, NS.

Ronnie was relentless from start to finish in this contest. In terms of sheer numbers, Roni blew everyone else out of the water. She was on top of all social media platforms, including those that other trainers didn’t think to use—e.g., Bodybuilding.com reviews, Vitacost.com reviews, and Tumblr. She really took advantage of the opportunity to talk about BSN and use the hashtags as often as possible. She was more innovative than any of the other trainers, from her use of supplement retailers’ websites for reviews to her idea to bake the most creative, delicious items using Syntha-6. Roni was the cream of the crop of quality and innovation. She took this contest and ran with it!

The runner-up is Devin Sherrington. Even though he wasn’t quite second place in terms of his social media presence, the case was made for him to place second because of the quality of his posts. He focused so much on his clients: their success, their transformation, and their use of the supplements. This trainer had one of the best reputations in his province going into the contest and exhibits an unparalleled commitment to his clients.

His push at the end was astounding: He went from 15 to 30 posts a week up to as many as 60 to 80 in the last few weeks. He tried exceptionally hard at the end, and it really showed! He even made it onto ScotiaBank’s social media in a BSN T-shirt!

But, there can only be one winner, and Roni is clearly it. And her story is amazing. According to Roni, she spent years overweight, starting a new diet every Monday only to either fall off the wagon by Monday afternoon and throw in the towel or not see any results because she was eating all the wrong things and not exercising enough or at all. “When I finally did manage to stick to a diet and lose the weight I, like many people, did it entirely the wrong way because I didn’t know any better and was still unhappy with how I looked. Eventually, I found my way to weight training and learned how important lifting and proper nutrition is to how we look, feel, perform, and even age. I also learned that everything I (and most of the general population) thought I knew about losing weight, dieting, and exercising was all wrong. I felt like I had been given such an incredible gift with this new lifestyle and new knowledge that I needed to change the focus of my life and help other people stuck in the same place I was for so many years. I didn’t want another woman to ever feel stuck in an overweight body she hated or try to starve herself skinny. This became my life’s passion.”

And it shows! Congratulations again to Roni Davis and all the incredible trainers who participated in this year’s event. We hope to see more of you again when BSN and MI look for the next BSN Trainer of the Year!
