Orlando Pro Championships 2022 Contest Predictions

The United States is preparing to celebrate their Independence Day on July 4th. The weekend leading up to that celebration, the IFBB Pro League will embark on Orlando, Florida for the 2022 Orlando Pro. The only competition that will be held at this show is the Men’s Open Division, but there is a 2022 Mr. Olympia qualification on the line. The contest has ten men entered as of June 27th, and they are below in alphabetical order.

Tonio Burton (Reno, Nevada)

Phil Clahar (Tampa, Florida)

Jonas Giatras (Syracuse, Utah)

Jameil Hamilton (Bahamas)

Martin Hernandez (Mexico)

Matt Kouba (Lockport, Illinois)

Jason Lowe (Ormond Beach, Florida)

Walter Martin (Lorain, Ohio)

Hassan Mostafa (Egypt)

Andrea Presti (Italy)

Maxx Charles (Holtsville, New York)

Early Favorites

Hassan Mostafa (Egypt)

Mostafa is coming off a clear victory at the 2022 Puerto Rico Pro. So, his Olympia qualification is already secured. However, since he was on this side of the world already, he decided to try to rack up more wins and earn momentum as well as confidence. He will be one of the larger competitors in the lineup, and he was conditioned in Puerto Rico as well. If he brings the same physique, or improve on that look, the contest will likely be over.

Tonio Burton (Reno, Nevada)

Burton is coming off a third-place finish at the California State Pro. He’s been competing in both the open and 212 divisions over the last couple of seasons. His front lat spread is very impressive, and his side chest is a good pose for him. The only issue that may hold him back is size, which Mostafa has plenty of. To be clear, if Mostafa is off, Burton will be ready to snag that top spot.

Phil Clahar (Tampa, Florida)

Clahar placed second to Iain Valliere at the 2021 Tampa Pro last August. He then placed third behind Valliere and Kuclo in Texas that same month. This will be his 2022 debut. If he added some size and can maximize his conditioning, then the fans in Florida will be in for quite the show.

Maxx Charles (Holtsville, New York)

Maxx Charles jumped into this show after our predictions were originally published. A veteran of his stature must be considered for contention. However, he's competed a lot this season. Going back to the 2022 Arnold Classic, Charles has competed six times. The closest he has come to winning is a second place effort in the Indy Pro to champion Blessing Awodibu. He most recently placed 5th at the Puerto Rico Pro. If the other favorites are off, he could take advantage. However, peaking numerous times so often does lead to burnout, and the body may respond negatively after so long. This is what Charles is facing going into this contest. Either way he is in contention for the title and is someone to keep a close eye on at this contest.
