Oksana Grishina Is Competing In The 2022 Olympia

Four-time Fitness Olympia champion Oksana Grishina is one of the greatest competitors in her division’s history. Aside from the four Olympia wins, she has four Fitness International wins to her credit. Many people would feel that those victories alone would be enough to cement a large legacy. However, she may not be done just yet.

Grishina was a guest on Wings of Strength’s “Fit Rockstar Show,” and she told host Isabell Turell that she would in fact, compete in the 2022 Olympia, set for December 16th through 18th in Las Vegas, Nevada. While a fifth Olympia title would be an incredible achievement for Grishina, she is simply looking to present a physique and routine that will be worthy of the stage and fans that will watch.

“I'm gonna do my best. And that's all I can promise, you know, I'll do my best if I find something in my soul that I can share with the audience,” said Grishina.

She did indicate that she may take a different approach when it comes to her routine this year. Her performances over the years have been among the most memorable moments of the Olympia and Arnold Classic contests.

“I want to try to be less dramatic this year because it's always somethings life changing, and I think this is going to be bright side of you know, in my life.”

Grishina has 13 pro wins to her credit overall. Her last victory came at the 2017 Olympia, where the then four-time champion announced her retirement. She then came out of retirement at the 2020 Olympia, and actually placed higher than defending champion Whitney Jones. However, Canada’s Missy Truscott would leave Orlando, Florida as the new champion.

She then made her return to the Arnold stage by competing in the 2021 Fitness International competition in Columbus, Ohio. Once again, Truscott kept her from victory, and she was again relegated to second place. She would place third at the 2021 Olympia two weeks later. Jones reclaimed the title from Truscott at that contest.

Grishina turns 44 on March 25th, but she is still a competitive force in the Fitness division. She must be considered a threat to win any title she shoots for. With Jones, Truscott, and 2022 Fitness International winner Ariel Khadr joining Grishina in Las Vegas at the Olympia, this could be the most competitive contest in the division’s history.
