The 2022 Arnold Sports Festival may be the biggest weekend on the strength sports calendar. Aside from the 34th Arnold Classic, the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic will be held on the weekend of March 4th and 5th in Columbus, Ohio. This contest on its own is one of the most prestigious titles in that sport – the other being the World’s Strongest Man. Ten men, headlined by 2021 World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman, will compete for this title, and Canada represents 20% of the lineup.

The list is below in alphabetical order.

  • Maxime Boudreault (Canada)
  • J.F. Caron (Canada)
  • Rob Kearney (USA)
  • Mateusz Kieliszkowski (Poland)
  • Martins Licis (USA)
  • Evgeny Markov (Russia)
  • Trey Mitchell (USA)
  • Oleksii Novikov (Ukraine)
  • Luke Stoltman (Scotland)
  • Tom Stoltman (Scotland)

These ten men are among the elite strongmen on the planet, and all of them are looking for their first ASC title. The question is if one of the two Canadians win Based on their resumes, we believe one of them can.

Maxime Boudreault – Boudreault is one of the rising stars in the sport, and this will be his debut on the Arnold stage. He is coming off a victory at the 2021 Magnus ver Magnusson Strongman Classic, He also placed third at the 2021 World’s Strongest Man, joining Tom Stoltman (1st) and Brian Shaw (2nd) on the podium. His star is on the rise, and he’s only gotten stronger over the last few years.

J.F. Caron – Whereas Boudreault would be considered a rising star, Caron is a Canadian legend. He has been Canada’s Strongest Man nine different times, and he has also made the podium of the World’s Strongest Man contest, placing third in 2020 to champion Oleksii Novikov and Tom Stoltman as the runner-up. His highest placing at the Arnold Strongman Classic was fourth in 2020. He was also the runner-up at the 2021 World’s Ultimate Strongman contest.
