Boston Pro 2022 Report

The second major contest of 2022 has wrapped up in Boston, Massachusetts. The first ever Boston Pro was held on March 12th, and there was a lot of action that the fans got to enjoy. Seven pro contests were held on this day, with a lot of popular competitors leaving as this year’s champions.

William Bonac Wins Men’s Open 

After a second-place finish at the 2022 Arnold Classic, William Bonac redeemed himself by placing first in this contest. As a result, he’s now officially qualified for the 2022 Olympia. Justin Rodriguez managed to finish this contest as the runner-up, which is considered an upset over longtime veteran Steve Kuclo. Samson Dauda and Maxx Charles rounded out the top five.

"The Miracle Bear" Urs Kalecinski Wins the Classic Physique Title

Urs Kalecinski has went from one of the upstart competitors in Classic Physique to one of the division’s elites. He cemented that status by placing first in Boston. Tony Duong was very impressive in this show, and he was rewarded with second place as a result. The bronze spot went to Andrew Wilson.

Erin Banks is on a Roll

Fresh off his victory at the Arnold Classic Men’s Physique competition, Erin Banks arrived, won, and left. He placed first in the Men’s Physique show with little trouble. Diogo Montenegro and Joshua Guidry rounded out the top three.

Yarishna Ayala Takes the Wellness Win

There were four women’s divisions in this show, and the crowd was pumped for the Wellness lineup. The last lady standing was former New York Pro winner Yarishna Ayala, who now adds the Boston Pro title to her growing list of accomplishments.

Missy Truscott Wins Another Title

Missy Truscott was in unfamiliar territory because she had lost her last two competitions, placing second at the Olympia to Whitney Jones, and in the same spot at this year’s Fitness International to Ariel Khadr. Fortunately for the Canadian competitor, she has broken that streak by taking first in Boston. The top five is below.

Lola Montez Takes A Close Contest in Figure

Lola Montez and Nicole Zenobia Graham were considered the favorites in the Figure division, and this may have been the toughest call to make in the whole show. Ultimately, Montez was awarded first place by the judges. Graham was very impressive, but she leaves Boston in the silver position.

Maureen Blanquisco Wins Bikini Crown

Maureen Blanquisco was the runner-up one week ago at the Bikini International, but thanks to improving for this contest, she claimed her fourth IFBB Pro League title. She also defeated former Olympia winner Elisa Pecini in order to take that victory. She has served notice that she should be considered a serious contender for the Olympia at the end of 2022.
