Arnold Classic 2022 Predictions
The 34th edition of the Arnold Classic will be one for the ages. Eleven of the IFBB Pro League’s best will face the judges in Columbus, Ohio in what should be a big start to the 2022 bodybuilding calendar. There’s a lot of hype, and it’s for good reason. There are three past champions, one of which is a Mr. Olympia, and some of the sport’s rising stars in the lineup. The full roster of competitors is below.
William Bonac (Netherlands)
Maxx Charles (USA)
Brandon Curry (USA)
Samson Dauda (United Kingdom)
Regan Grimes (Canada)
Steve Kuclo (USA)
Fabio Giga Rezende (Brasil)
Justin Rodriguez (USA)
Brett Wilkin (USA)
The favorite going into the contest is 2019 Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry, who won the Arnold Classic that same year. He’s only the third man to have won both titles in the same year. The other two are Ronnie Coleman and Dexter Jackson. Alongside of Curry is WIlliam Bonac, who is a two-time Arnold Classic champ himself. Then there’s Steve Kuclo, who has been knocking on the door of an Arnold victory for a few years now.
The key to this contest may be the future stars in the making. Canada’s Regan Grimes is established already, but the former Muscle Insider cover athlete has been on the rise since he began working with his new coach, Milos Sarcev after working with Dorian Hamilton for several years. The X-factor may be Brett Wilkin, who turned many heads with his second-place finish at the Chicago Pro last year. He’s improved a lot since then, and he is expecting to be a few pounds bigger than his last contest appearance.
The drama at the Arnold Classic may not be with the winner because many expect it to be Curry, but the top five finishers could raise eyebrows of those in attendance as well as the fans watching on pay-per-view.
1st – Brandon Curry
2nd – William Bonac
3rd – Regan Grimes
4th – Steve Kuclo
5th – Brett Wilkin
