The 2024 Vancouver Pro Show was one that will be remembered and talked about for quite some time to come. Six divisions held contests in Abbottsford, BC, and there was a combination of first-time winners and elite champions in this show. All six shows had 2024 Olympia qualifications that could go to the winners if they hadn’t qualified already, meaning every athlete was giving their all in this one. If you didn’t get to see the show live, here is a brief recap of what you missed.
Jewett shifted from the 212 to the Open in 2023, and this is his first win in his new division. Jewett appeared confident and looked the best he has ever presented himself onstage. He can now be a part of history by standing onstage at the 60th Mr. Olympia contest. We may see him stand alongside another former 212 competitor on that stage – 2023 Mr. Olympia winner Derek Lunsford.
As for this show, Tim Budesheim finished in second, and Robin Strand represented Canada well, finishing in third place. The top five for the Men’s Open portion is below.
Kellen Wilson and Samuel Paquin both appeared to be in the running for the win, but Wilson emerged victorious. Two years ago, he placed seventh in this show, and now he leaves the stage as an Olympian. Paquin settled for the runner-up spot, and Hamzah Saeed from the United States concluded the top three finishers out of this seven-man lineup.
Reuben Glass and Daniel Leone gave the judges a challenge at this show. They both looked spectacular and could have left the stage with the win. In the end, Glass placed first by a single point to qualify for the 2024 Men’s Physique Olympia. Mehdi Kabbadj was solid in third place on the scorecards.
Five-time Fitness Olympia champion (and mother-to-be) Oksana Grishina was in the house for the Fitness division. She and the fans in attendance saw Tamara Vahn showcase a great physique and backed it up with an impressive routine to take the win in Abbottsford. Andrea Glass and Abby Bolton settled for second and third place respectively.
Canada was dominant in the Figure division with the top four spots all being claimed by the host country. The top finisher out of those four was Manon Dutilly, who will now make her Olympia debut this October, in Las Vegas. Giselie Heathcote and Mandy Urner were your runner-up and third-place finishers.
Three-time Bikini Olympia winner Ashley Kaltwasser has 48 pro victories now, which extends her own record for the highest in IFBB Pro League history. The Las Vegas native was the clear winner at the Vancouver Pro, and this is her third Vancouver Pro title. She also won in 2018 and 2023. Jule Schwabe of Austria finished one spot behind the champ, and Brianna Campardo was the highest finishing Canadian in third place.
