2023 Toronto Pro SuperShow Predictions

One of the biggest weekends on the Canadian bodybuilding schedule is upon us. The Toronto Pro is this coming weekend, June 3-5, and athletes from ten IFBB Pro League divisions are set to face off with Olympia qualifications on the line. You may have seen our previous update with the full rosters of all pro divisions, with new pros that win the amateur shows also being eligible to enter them. Now, let’s get down to the predictions and who we see winning the championships and qualifying for the Olympia.

Men’s Open

Fans were already excited to see Iain Valliere return to the stage this weekend, and Valliere himself has said that he wanted to add this title to his mantle. However, he will be facing another great pro, Hassan Mostafa, who will also be making his return to the stage in Toronto. He will be joined by California State Pro winner Ross Flanigan. There will be your top three, and we see Valliere defending his home country by winning the contest and qualifying for the Olympia.

  1. Iain Valliere
  2. Hassan Mostafa
  3. Ross Flanigan

212

The 212 division isn’t as packed, but the quality of talent that will be onstage makes it a great show. Athletes from five countries will be in this lineup, and we see Piotr Borecki placing first at the end of the finals. Chris Buhr can contend for the win, but finishing second is nothing to be ashamed of. Nate Telow has been working under Jose Raymond’s tutelage, and we see him as a dark horse for a top three finish.

  1. Piotr Borecki
  2. Chris Buhr
  3. Nate Telow

Classic Physique

Gregory Dawson is a new pro who won his pro card at last year’s Toronto Pro. He will be making his pro debut in the Classic Physique division, and the kid has the kind of potential that we see him winning his first show. It is challenging to predict the other top three finishers, but Farzad Ghotbi and Tyler Okowinsky are two solid candidates, and that would make this an all Canada top three finish.

  1. Gregory Dawson
  2. Farzad Ghotbi
  3. Tyler Okowinsky

Men’s Physique

We see another rookie coming out and making a big impact in the Men’s Physique division. Austin Belanger turned pro at Toronto, and he will win his pro debut in Toronto as well, we believe. Rory Gissing was fifth at the Budapest Pro earlier this season, and we think he cracks the top three at this contest. Coming in third could be anyone, but we’re going to go with Mexico’s Daniel Rabiela.

  1. Austin Belanger
  2. Rory Gissing
  3. Daniel Rabiela

Wheelchair

The wheelchair contests are always inspiring, and the men in the lineups always make the show a memorable one. None of these men were in the 2022 Olympia, and there are few 2023 qualifications out there to be had. Tim Caldwell knows this, and we think he will seize the moment and win this show. Watch for Bryan Williams and Jack McCann, however. They can certainly hold their own and make this show a hard one for the judges.

  1. Tim Caldwell
  2. Bryan Williams
  3. Jack McCann

Women’s Bodybuilding

The women’s bodybuilding contest is deep, but the favorite going in is Theresa Ivancik, who placed seventh in the Ms. Olympia last year. She’s been sharing updates on social media that indicate she is on point and ready to take the stage. Julia Whitesel and Tananarive Huie will make this an interesting show, but Ivancik should take the win here and be eligible to compete in Orlando this November.

  1. Theresa Ivancik
  2. Julia Whitesel
  3. Tananarive Huie

Women’s Physique

The Women’s Physique contest will also come down to the end. Emilija Martic will likely be the crowd favorite, and we see her feeling the energy of competing in Canada push her to the win this weekend. Diana Schnaidt has been in contention at numerous shows, but hasn’t been able to take a win. She will be in the hunt here, and third place is anyone’s guess. We will choose Alyssa Coppolino, who represents New Brunswick.

  1. Emilija Martic
  2. Diana Schnaidt
  3. Alyssa Coppolino

Figure

Lola Montez was third at the FIgure Olympia, and she may be Canada’s best chance of winning that Olympia title this year. She will hold court in Toronto by taking first place in the Figure show. The next two slots are wide open. Tamika Robinson and Jodi Boam are certainly capable of taking those positions, and that is who we’re going to roll with for this weekend.

  1. Lola Montez
  2. Jodi Boam
  3. Tamika Robinson

Bikini

Eli Fernandez is looking to improve on her 14th place finish at the Olympia last year, but she needs to qualify in order to do that. Toronto will be the place that we think she makes that happen. It will be a battle for the top spot, though, because Brittany Gillespie and Ayleen Santander will make their presences known. Keep your eyes on Racquel Hutchinson as a dark horse as well.

  1. Eli Fernandez
  2. Brittany Gillespie
  3. Ayleen Santander

Wellness

The Wellness division has the fewest contestants, but that doesn’t make it an easier show to call. Emily Azzarello was sixth in Pittsburgh last month, and she showed a lot of potential that we think can and will be fulfilled in Toronto. Anne-Marie Gobeil will make the show a Canadian one, two finish, and she very well could flip this script by winning. She was second in the 2022 Arizona Pro. Third is a toss-up for this one, but we believe that Sandra Colorado Acal of Spain will take that position.

  1. Emily Azzarello
  2. Anne-Marie Gobeil
  3. Sandra Colorado Acal
