2022 New York Pro Predictions

After a three-year relocation to Tampa, Florida, the New York Pro is returning to the New York/New Jersey area. This year’s edition of the New York Pro will take place in Teaneck, New Jersey on Saturday, May 21st. Aside from winning an Olympia qualification, the winners in each of the nine divisions will win one of the more prestigious titles in professional bodybuilding.

Four men’s divisions and five women’s divisions will be contested on the stage. The full rosters of competitors can be seen on the IFBB Pro League website. Let’s take a look at the favorites and see who could call themselves champions at the end of Saturday night.

Men’s Open

This contest will see a rematch between the top favorites at the Indy Pro one weekend ago. Winner Blessing Awodibu, third place finisher Maxx Charles, and fourth place finisher Justin Rodriguez are all slated to face off again in New Jersey. Awodibu hopes to carry the momentum from his first pro win into this show to make it his second victory. Meanwhile, Rodriguez may have been strategizing to peak for this contest the whole time. Then there’s Charles, who can move past both of them if they are off the mark. After finishing in second place one year ago, Rodriguez wants to win this contest bad, and it wouldn’t be a shock if he did it.

212

Noel Adame was a favorite to win the Indy Pro 212 title, but he was relegated to second place thanks to the surprising Bryan Balzano. Balzano won’t be in this show, and Adame is looking for redemption. He could and should get it at this competition. Enmanuel Rodriguez, Asante Gibson, and Steve Benthin will make the rest of the first callout interesting, and the battle for the top three will be dramatic to say the least.

Bikini

The competition that may steal the show could be the Bikini division. There are two Olympia winners and two more Arnold champions in this lineup. Janet Layug, Elisa Pecini, and India Paulino will go all-out to win this title, but they will face Lauralie Chapados, who has been on a role lately. She has won both the 2022 Bikini International and the 2022 Pittsburgh Pro so far this year. We have to pull for our Canadian superstar to make it three in a row.
