Ahmad Ashkanani, Candice Lewis-Carter, Daniely Castilho Win IFBB Pro League Titles

Ahmad Ashkanani Wins Arnold Classic 212 In Columbus Debut

Ahmad Ashkanani of Kuwait, who turned professional at the 2016 Arnold Classic Australia Amateur and finished second at the 2016 Olympia 212 Showdown, won the Arnold Classic 212 in his Columbus debut. Ashkanani received the champion’s trophy from Arnold Schwarzenegger and $22,000, a Tony Nowak Official Champions Jacket and congratulations from Dr. Rafael Santonja of the International Federation of Body Building and Fitness and Jim Manion of the IFBB Pro League.

The remainder of the Arnold Classic top six:

  • 2nd place: David Henry of South Hadley, Mass., received $10,000 and a medal from Midway Labs USA and Optimum Nutrition.
  • 3rd place: Jose Raymond of North Reading, Mass., received $6,000 and a medal from MHP and Ultimate Nutrition.
  • 4th place: Guy Cisternino of Branchburn, N.J., received $4,000 and a medal from Ricart Automotive and the Columbus Dispatch.
  • 5th place: Zane Watson of Canada, received $2,000 and a medal from Laura’s Lean Beef and Nutrex.
  • 6th place: Hidetada Yamagishi of Japan, received $1,000 and a medal from Ricart Automotive and Gold’s Gym.

Oksana Grishina Wins Fitness International For Fourth Straight Year

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Oksana Grishina of North Hollywood, Calif., won the prestigious Fitness International for the fourth straight year, then immediately told Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that the competition was her last on the Arnold Classic stage. Grishina, though, did not announce her retirement. Grishina received the champion’s trophy from Arnold, a $25,000 check, a Tony Nowak Official Champions Jacket and congratulations from Jeff Howe of Optimum Nutrition and Catherine Colle of Midway Labs USA.

The remainder of the Fitness International top six:

  • 2nd place: Regiane Da Silva of Germany, received $13,000 and a trophy from Ultimate Nutrition and ROGUE Fitness.
  • 3rd place: Whitney Jones of Chandler, Ariz., received $8,000 and a trophy from Muscle & Fitness Magazine and Quest Nutrition.
  • 4th place: Bethany Wagner of Somerset, N.J., received $5,000 and a trophy from Nutrex and The Columbus Dispatch.
    5th place: Fiona Harris of Canada received $3,000 and a trophy from Gold’s Gym and Ricart Automotive.
  • 6th place: Ariel Khadr of Miami, Fla., received $2,000 and a trophy from Laura’s Lean Beef and Allmax.


Candice Lewis-Carter Breaks Though With Figure International Title

Candice Lewis-Carter of Chandler, Arizona earned the biggest victory of her career when she won the prestigious Figure International for the first time. Cydney Gillon of Atlanta, Ga., was second for the second straight year. Lewis-Carter received the champion’s trophy from Arnold Schwarzenegger and $16,000, a Tony Nowak Official Champions Jackets and congratulations from Optimum Nutrition and Midway Labs USA.

The remainder of the Figure International top six:

  • 2nd place: Cydney Gillon of Atlanta, Ga, received $10,000 and a trophy from ROGUE Fitness and Animal.
  • 3rd place:  Latorya Watts of Las Vegas, Nev., received $8,000 and trophy from BSN and Jan Tana.
  • 4th place: Camala Rodriguez of Denver, Colo., received $5,000 and a trophy from Ricart Automotive and the Columbus Dispatch.
  •  5th place: Gennifer Strobo of Orlando, Fla, received $3,000 and a trophy from EAS and Body Fortress.
  • 6th place: Heather Dees of Salt Lake City, Utah, received $2,000 and a trophy from Performix and Quest Nutrition.

Dariely Castilho of Brasil Wins Women’s Physique International

Dariely Castilho of Brasil a field of more than 35 competitors to win the Women’s Physique International. Castilho received the champion’s trophy from Arnold Schwarzenegger and $5,000, a Tony Nowak Official Champions Jackets and congratulations from Jeff Howe of Optimum Nutrition and ROGUE Fitness.

The remainder of the Women’s Physique International top six:

  • 2nd place:  Sheronica Henton received $2,000 and a trophy from Midway Labs USA and Body Fortress.
    3rd place: Heather Grace received $1,500 and trophy from Animal and EAS.
  • 4th place: Brooke Walter received $1,000 and a trophy from BSN and Performix.
  • 5th place: Autumn Swansen received $1,000 and a trophy from Jan Tana and the Columbus Dispatch.
  • 6th place: Rosela Joseph received $500 and a trophy from Allmax and Ricart Automotive.
