Site Injections
Q. How popular are site injections at the top of the sport and what are the most popular body parts to do them in? Do they work?
A. The answer to your question is a definite yes. Site injections are very popular at the top of the sport and even at the amateur level. It seems like even at beginner contests, bodybuilders are doing what some of the elite of the sport are doing which was unheard of when I was at that level. Whether it be a steroid with a slight inflammation effect or a space occupying oil like Synthol, the compound is injected into the areas where this effect would benefit an athlete from an esthetic standpoint. It’s mostly done with lagging body parts. Most commonly biceps, triceps side and rear delts and in many cases calves. Many that decide to do this use anabolics over Synthol or other oils because they’re injecting the steroids anyways! They rotate their injection sites and avoid hitting the same area too often. A little goes a long way! Plus you don’t want scar tissue to build up if possible. I would stay away from Synthol though because all that happens is a ball of oil sits in the injected area which will be troublesome. Esiclene is another choice of top guys to touch up certain areas right before a show. I’m not recommending this but this does take place amongst some athletes.
