Maintaining Muscle Fullness

QUESTION: Hey Chris quick question I’m having a hard time maintaining muscle fullness, usually when I eat my stomach gets kind of bloated and my muscles look really flat but when my stomach is empty I look fuller again, any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Everybody's body reacts differently to the diet, training and supplements we take. For this reason, you need to listen to your body and experiment with different strategies. But here are some tips that might help:

  1. Eat every 2-3 hours and make sure you have carbohydrates (+ protein + good fats) in every meal. This way you will always have glycogen stored in your muscles.
  2. Try a waxy maize supplement in combo with some whey protein isolate about an hour before training. Waxy maize is easily digested and won't sit in your belly for very long.
  3. Consider taking in small shakes of waxy maize and whey protein isolate (15 grams each) between meals. Once again, this is easily digested and will keep you from ever being flat.

Try this out and let me know how you make out!
