6 Time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates Takes IFBB Pro Mboya Edwards Through A Back Blitz

By: Tina Goinarov

It was the day after the first Toronto Pro Super Show, and fans still wanted some more of what the bodybuilding world has to offer. MUSCLE INSIDER hosted an exclusive training seminar with 6 time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates for the fans and athletes alike. The "Blood & Guts Training Seminar" took place at Venice Fitness in downtown Toronto, where Yates took the time to share his knowledge and expertise in training and nutrition with the fans that came out for the 3 hour seminar. These fans were also treated to a surprise upon their arrival. Not only did they get to learn from a legend, but they also got the opportunity to meet IFBB Pro Mboya Edwards - Canada's first Mr. Olympia qualifier in the 202 weight class!

Mboya Edwards Gets Put To The Test

After the seminar, Mboya was shown a little 'blood and guts' of his own by having Dorian Yates put him through two sets of close grip seated rows for the fans. Yates had gave props on Mboya's conditioning that weekend, and now put his back to the test! Edwards, coming off his 2nd place finishing and qualifying for Mr. Olympia this September, was more than happy to show Yates what he could do and why he deserves to be at the Olympia.

Dorian Yates started Mboya off at a weight that was close to his highest, for a set of about 15 reps. Edwards showed impressive form and technique which was observed by Dorian, as he commented on how Edwards' back looked. Yates was determined to push him to a new limit, by almost more than doubling the weight at which Edwards was working on. Edwards took hold of the grip and pulled out 10 reps with unbelievable form making Yates comment again on Edwards' training focus and form. Edwards commented after the set that he 'felt' that set, yet when you get the opportunity to train with a legend like Dorian Yates, you "do not want to let him down or disappoint."

Dorian Yates offered some tips and advice that Mboya Edwards is now armed with and will use in his training and contest prep on his road to Olympia this September 18th.
