What intensity of cardio is best for fat loss?

QUESTION: Low-intensity, medium-intensity, or high-intensity cardio—what do you believe works best for fat loss?

ANSWER: There’s really no “catch-all” answer here; many variables underlie athlete best practices in cardio training for fat burning. For example, there are different optimal intensity ranges for engaging your body in fat loss depending on your age range. Time of day can even play a factor in how well-prepared your body is for fat burning, depending on the cycles of your endocrine system. I think consistency is always the key with making cardio work for you. I do 30 to 60 minutes of low- to medium-intensity but I do it 365 days a year. A lot of people doing high-intensity cardio tend to only do this for a few days a week.
