Optimum Nutrition Protein Almonds

Company:
Optimum Nutrition

If you haven't tried Optimum Nutrition’s Protein Almonds you're really missing out! Each serving (one pack) contains 230 calories, 10 grams of protein, 15 grams of carbs (2 grams of which is fiber), 16 grams of fat (half of which are saturated fats, the remainder are a mixture of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats). Each serving contains only 1 g of sugar and 10 g of sugar alcohols (Maltitol). So what Optimum has done is essentially replaced the sugar-laden coating typically found in chocolate covered almonds and instead used a sugar alcohol mixed with whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate coating. Calcium sits at 70 mg,  Potassium at 200 mg and they have some Iron in there for good measure. But the best part is about this entire product is the taste.  We would put the taste against any high fat chocolate covered almond and know it would come out on top as it’s really THAT good but it contains two times the amount of protein that's found in regular chocolate covered almonds. We’ve been to Optimum Nutrition’s manufacturing facility in Aurora, Illinois and the quality control was impeccable. Optimum Nutrition’s Protein Almonds currently come in Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Jalapeno, Cinnamon Roll, and Espresso. The popularity of these snacks is beyond what even Optimum anticipated so we wouldn’t be surprised to see more flavours added, mixed flavour boxes and value sizes packs in the future.

More Protein Almonds In The Future?

We also wouldn’t be surprised to see their sister company BSN come out with chocolate covered almonds of their own. Imagine a Syntha 6 Cold Stone Creamery flavoured almonds…not saying it’s going to happen, but that’s what we would love to eat if the supplement gods could answer our prayers!
