According to his coach's Instagram page, IFBB Pro Sean Labega is slated to undergo surgery to amputate his leg.

"I want to take a moment and give a shoutout to my client and friend @ifbbproroboticlabega. Shawn is one of the most positive individuals I have ever met. He just knows how to bring a smile to you, has a great outlook and truly a great person. It deeply saddens me that he has to get his leg amputated today. I’m not an emotional person but when I found out this was happening it made me tear up. Shawn has had the best attitude about all of this and it really just speaks volumes about him. I am positive he will come out on the other side of this even better! His goal is still to compete in the Arnold and Olympia. So after he recovers/rehabs, I know we will get back to work to push toward his goals and dreams."

In our opinion, Labega was going to be one of the front-runners coming into the 2018 Arnold Classic. In Men’s Physique, last year’s winner, Ryan Terry, will be noticeably absent from the competition competition. Unless a dark horse emerges, it would have been a showdown between George Brown, Andre Ferguson, Xavisus Gayden, Brandon Hendrickson, and Shawn Labega.

We wish Sean the best as he undergoes his operation, and know he'll be back kicking ass and taking names on stage in no time.
