Eddie Hall sets new deadlift record with 1020lbs
Carnegie Stadium in Leeds, England proved to be an epic battleground this past weekend, as it played host to the 2015 World's Strongest Deadlift competition. There were two favourites leading up to the competition. The first was Englishman Eddie Hall. If the name is familiar to you, it's probably because he was the previous record holder for the deadlift, after pulling 1018lbs at the Arnold Classic Australia. Arnold himself was there to witness the insane event! Evidently, 1018 wasn't good enough for this beast - He had to break his own record.
Thus, he went for 463kg/1020lbs. And owned it.
The other favourite going in to the competition was Game of Thrones superstar and Europe's Strongest Man Hafthor Bjornsson. He deadlifted 450kg (992lb), solidifying his already stellar reputation as a celebrity AND a reputable strongman. He made appearance at the Arnold Classic Ohio this year for fans of both the show and the sport!
