After Olympia Debacle, Big Ramy Hires New Coach

Following last September’s swoon from his 2017 runner-up finish at the Mr. Olympia to sixth, the world’s biggest bodybuilder—Egypt’s Mamdouh Elssbiay—officially began a new chapter on Nov. 17 when he named a new coach, Brit Neil “Yoda” Hill. Hill, who made the announcement on his Instagram page, also coaches seven-time defending 212 Olympia champion Flex Lewis and 2018 Arnold Classic champ William Bonac.

Big Ramy has notably had trouble dialing his monstrous size in for the Olympia, but his recent fall precipitated the coaching change.

In announcing the move, Hill wrote on IG: “I’m excited to officially announce that @big_ramy has now started working with me and joined #TeamY3T. What show we choose as our first show for 2019 has not yet been decided. For me it’s not about rushing the process, but a time to learn and figure out Ramy’s body. I want to make this very clear. My relationship, friendship, commitment and loyalty [are] the very essence of me as a person. I will be prepping all my athletes to try and win every show they enter. One day I will have the likes of @william_bonac, @big_ramy, @flex_lewis & @blessing_awodibu all competing against [one another]. No one will get more of my commitment, knowledge, time, and belief; they will all share 100% of me. How they place will be down to the judges’ eyes and views…”

On the same day as Hill’s announcement, Big Ramy posted this photo to remind fans and rivals of that the best is yet to come.
