The Vancouver Convention Centre was buzzing on March 21st and 22nd as CHFA NOW 2026 Vancouver brought together retailers, supplement brands, distributors, and health innovators from across North America. From a 20-Foot Container to a Global Brand

The origin story of Perfect Shaker is rooted in entrepreneurship, risk, and a bit of chaos.

Mark originally operated a small health store and wanted custom shaker cups featuring his logo. After searching locally without success, he began sourcing overseas. The pricing looked attractive, especially if ordering in bulk. What he didn’t fully appreciate was what a 20-foot shipping container of shaker bottles actually meant in real terms.

When that container arrived at his townhouse, it filled the space floor to ceiling. There was barely room to walk through the condo, and what started as a practical business decision quickly became a lesson in scale.

That experience planted a seed. On a flight to the Mr. Olympia, Darren and Mark began discussing what it would look like to turn custom shaker cups into a real business

The company officially incorporated in May 2010, but the groundwork had already begun.

In the early years, they experimented with different styles and mechanisms. Traditional shaker bottles relied on filter screens or loose metal mixing balls. Both generated consistent complaints. Screens did not blend well enough. Mixing balls were lost, stuck together, or left behind in sinks and dishwashers. And many bottles eventually leaked.

The founders recognized that if they wanted to build something sustainable, they needed to solve the core mechanical problems first.
