The State of Women’s Bodybuilding: Andrea Shaw Presents – Ranya Temizkan

Andrea Shaw and Ranya Temizkan featured in The State of Women’s Bodybuilding series by Muscle Insider

Inside the New Women’s Bodybuilding Series with Six-Time Ms. Olympia Andrea Shaw

In March 2026, Muscle Insider sat down with six-time Ms. Olympia Andrea Shaw for an in-depth conversation on the state of women’s bodybuilding, which you can read in full in our Andrea Shaw feature interview. During that discussion, Shaw emphasized that creating more opportunities for athletes to present themselves and promote the division is essential for its continued growth.

Building on that momentum, Muscle Insider and Shaw have joined forces to launch a new series, “The State of Women’s Bodybuilding: Andrea Shaw Presents’ on YouTube. Every month, we will speak to another member of the division about their career, life, and goals in bodybuilding and beyond.

Shaw’s first guest was new IFBB Pro Ranya Temizkan, who turned pro at the 2025 NPC USA’s. Muscle Insider CEO Andrew Bukowsky asked Shaw what she sees in her MUTANT teammate as an ambassador and athlete.

“She’s very pretty, and I see a lot of potential in her,” Shaw answered. “I actually got a chance to spend some time with her at the (MUTANT) booth at the Olympia, and it was really great. She has a lot of charisma that shows both on and off stage.”

Who Is Ranya Temizkan? Rising Star in Women’s Bodybuilding

According to NPC News Online, Temizkan first competed in Women’s Physique at the 2025 NPC Sampson Showdown before competing in that division and Women’s Bodybuilding for that year’s NPC USA’s. She won her pro card in Women’s Bodybuilding and entered the Tampa Pro shortly after, where she placed fourth—you can view her full stage presence in the 2025 Tampa Pro Women’s Bodybuilding photo gallery. She hasn’t competed since but has made it clear that she has her sights set on Florida in 2026.

“I’ve taken this year off to come back and do Tampa again in July now. That will be the start of my season.”

Temizkan also said that she plans to compete in Atlanta, GA, and has applied to compete in the Rising Phoenix. If those plans are followed through, then her show schedule for 2026 will be as follows.

  • Tampa Pro – July 30 – August 1 in Tampa, Florida
  • Lenda Murray Atlanta Pro – August 8 in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Rising Phoenix – August 22 in Phoenix, Arizona

If Temizkan wins any of those contests, then she will be qualified to make her Olympia debut against Shaw in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sept. 24-27.

Ranya Temizkan’s Approach to Coaching in Women’s Bodybuilding

Temizkan and her husband also run a coaching business. “Phenom Fitness Coaching” was created because they felt there was a lot of misinformation that could lead to athletes making mistakes if they were to pursue bodybuilding as well. Rather than only cite the problem, Temizkan said she and her husband decided to offer a solution.

“There’s not enough content for women who are seeing women with muscle giving information and advice,” she said. “So, I think just both of us realizing our passion for getting more women into bodybuilding, having them do it the smart way, the long-term way, setting big goals, and just being kind of promoters of the sport on the female side of it.”

Between her future competitive plans, personality, and passion for coaching, Temizkan is clearly an ally and advocate for women’s bodybuilding. Even after some news of contests being removed from the schedule and concern for prize money growing, both she and Shaw feel that there are still bright days for women’s bodybuilding ahead.
