The 2024 Vancouver Pro Show, set for July 14, 2024, in Abbotsford, BC, has become a place to see new stars rise up the ranks in bodybuilding, Past champions of the Vancouver Pro include names such as Fouad Abiad, Iain Valliere, and Hadi Choopan, who went on to win the 2022 Mr. Olympia.

You never know who will win the Vancouver Pro, but whoever wins it could very well be a big name in the future. So, pay attention to what is happening at this contest. We have the Men’s Open lineup below as well as the other two men’s divisions. We’re going to look into our crystal ball for all three, just as we did the women’s lineups, and see who leaves this Canadian show as champions. You can visit our Instagram page for all of the competitor’s lists.

Men’s Open

There are ten men set to take the stage in the Men’s Open, and they range from young up and coming athletes to seasoned veterans. The three that stand out to us are Stuart Sutherland, John Jewett, and Tim Budesheim. Sutherland has been knocking on the door for his first win for a while now. Jewett has been successful in the 212 and holding his own since joining the Open in 2023, and Budesheim has been a contender at several oversea shows. A local favourite is Robin Strand, who finished fourth place in Toronto last month. Let’s see if he can fight his way into the top three this weekend. This will likely be the top three, and we will call Sutherland to get his first “W” in the pro ranks.

  2. John Jewett
  3. Tim Budesheim

Classic Physique

Kellen Wilson has been coming up the ranks, and he has been on this stage before, having finished ninth in 2022. Isaac Baier was fourth in this contest in 2023, and he has this show as a goal to win. We think they will both move up the standings in 2024, but Samuel Paquin has Olympia experience, and he won the Toronto Pro Supershow in 2023. It would be hard to bet against him taking this title as well.

  2. Kellen Wilson
  3. Isaac Baier

Men’s Physique

The winners of these shows earn qualifications to compete in the 2024 Olympia unless they have already qualified. Sidy Pouye has won two shows already this season, so he is in this just to keep another man from moving on to the Olympia as well. No qualification is awarded to non-winners. The Men’s Physique lineup in this show is deep with names such as Mehdi Kabbadj and Reuben Glass in the minx, but we can’t see them overtaking Pouye.

New Pros Could Spoil the Party

The secret component that makes Vancouver even more interesting is that there are CPA events with pro cards attached to them. Theoretically, an amateur can enter the Saturday Pro Qualifier, get their pro card, jump into the pro show the following day, and be a spoiler to the favorites. If you follow any of these divisions, then make sure you pay attention to the CPA Pro Qualifier as well. You may see a new star rise up and surprise us all.
