Chicago Pro 2022 Predictions

The 2022 Chicago Pro is set to take place on the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd in Chicago, IL. Ten IFBB Pro League divisions will host contests at this show, and all winners will earn automatic qualifications to the 2022 Olympia weekend. Let’s not waste any time and get right into the predictions.

MEN’S OPEN

Antoine Vaillant

Vaillant made his return to the stage last weekend in Vancouver, and he placed second to Iain Valliere. We think he will use that momentum to go into Chicago and pick up the victory, which would be his second professional win.

Andrea Muzi

Muzi was also a runner-up in his last contest, as he placed second to Andrea Presti in the Mr. Big Evolution Pro in Portugal. He was also fourth in Puerto Rico and California. He will push Vaillant for the win, and if the former is off the mark, Muzi can see victory.

Tonio Burton

Burton has been a 212 competitor in the past, but he may be finding a new home in the Open. He was third in California, and his conditioning can serve him well in Illinois.

Tim Budesheim

Budesheim has been in the mix for the win at several shows, but he hasn’t been able to close the door. He should be in the first callout here, and anything can happen if he hits his peak.

Jonas Giatras

Giatras was third in Puerto Rico, which was a surprise to many. However, his competitors are aware of him now, and they will be ready. Nonetheless, a top five finish would be respectable in this lineup.

  1. Tim Budesheim
  2. Tonio Burton
  3. James Culberson
  4. Chris DiDimenico
  5. Seth Engman
  6. Jonas Giatras
  7. Dorian Haywood
  8. Matt Kouba
  9. Andrea Muzi
  10. Jossue Plascencia
  11. Erik Ramirez
  12. Manuel Romero
  13. Antoine Valliant

212 BODYBUILDING

Dectric Bo Lewis

This man has been knocking on the door for a few years now, and we think Chicago is when Lewis finally secures a victory and moves on to the Olympia. He was second in Puerto Rico last month, and some thought he should have won there as well.

Derik Oslan

Oslan has Olympia experience, and he was 4th in the New York Pro in May. He will be in the mix for the victory thanks to his symmetry and crazy quad development.

Peter Castella

Castella was 10th in the Indy Pro, and he finished 7th in New York. We think he will make adjustments and shock the crowd in Chicago by coming in the top three.

  1. Peter Castella
  2. Sealy Cruz
  3. Jason Joseph
  4. Michael LaCombe
  5. Tony LaGrene
  6. Dectric Bo Lewis
  7. Diego Guerra Montoya
  8. Fabricio de Souza Moreira
  9. Derik Oslan
  10. Michael Schneider
  11. Ryan Walters
  12. Wayne Williams

CLASSIC PHYSIQUE

John Le

The Vancouver Pro runner-up has great conditioning, and will be looking for redemption. We think he can and will get it here. It will only be his second contest as a pro, but his potential is unlimited.

Tommy Clark

Clark is the 2021 Lenda Murray Savannah Pro winner, and he was the runner-up in Atlanta last weekend. The matchup between him and Le will be intriguing for the fans and challenging for the judges.

Cody Amey

Amey was fourth in Vancouver last weekend, and he will be in the first callout at this contest as well. If he corrects mistakes he made in his last appearance, a win is possible.

  1. Cody Amey
  2. Theodore Atkins Jr.
  3. Tommy Clark
  4. William Cottrell
  5. Rohan Duncan
  6. Patryk Karpuk
  7. John Le  Canada
  8. Jonathan T. Pelkey
  9. Hugo Silva
  10. Wilfredo Victoria

MEN’S PHYSIQUE

Jeremy Potvin

This is Potvin’s first contest since the 2020 Olympia where he finsihed 4th. He’s bigger, and his waist is still extremely small. His size and thickness makes him the favorite.

Charjo Grant

Grant is coming off a win in Vancouver, but Potvin’s density and tiny waist will be hard to overcome.

Xiaolong Hong

The competitor from China finished 5th in the 2021 Hurricane Pro. He is flying under the radar, but his presence may be seen in the first callout and in the final awards.

  1. Ayinde Avery
  2. Jon Ballard
  3. Adam Bankston
  4. Donald Brumfield Jr.
  5. Devon Davis
  6. Joshua Dennison
  7. Oussah Dith
  8. Courtney English
  9. Michael Ferguson
  10. Charjo Grant
  11. Matthew Greggo
  12. Xiaolong Hong
  13. Shun Kaneko
  14. Burak King
  15. Nicolas Koeu
  16. Corey Morris
  17. David Odom
  18. Jeremy Potvin
  19. Justo Scott
  20. Mitchell Spadafore
  21. Winston Sullivan
  22. Deke Walker

WOMEN’S BODYBUILDING

Sheena Ohlig

Ohlig finished in 12th at the Olympia last year, and she needs to qualify for this year’s big contest. She will make the most out of the opportunity in the Windy City.

Angela Yeo

According to NPC News Online, the 2020 NPC National champion will be making her pro debut at this show. She’s had over a year to prepare for this moment. Hopefully she can prepare for the moment she takes a pro stage for the first time.

Jeanie Welker

Welker finished third in Lenda Murray’s show last year, and a top three finish for her is possible here as well for the native of Kansas.

  1. Saqweta Barrino
  2. Chelsea Dion
  3. Cheryl Faust
  4. Tamara Makar
  5. Sheena Ohlig
  6. Sherry Priami
  7. Jeanie Welker
  8. Tina Williams
  9. Angela Yeo

WOMEN’S PHYSIQUE

Ashley Jones

Jones won in Texas, but she didn’t compete in the Olympia. We think she will make the most out of this opportunity and take the win so she can compete in the 2022 contest.

Tomefafa Ameko

Ameko finished 7th in Omaha earlier this year, but she has been on the Olympia stage, and she can adjust as needed. Don’t expect her to be that low again in Chicago. You will see a better version of her.

Diana Schnaidt

Schnaidt has been dealing with a foot injury, but she’s motivated to do well because of her family who is struggling in the Ukraine/Russia crisis. She will rise to the occasion and be in the top three for this contest.

  1. Tomefafa Ameko
  2. Jonquil S. Baugh
  3. Ruiying Bian
  4. Sumyra Ford
  5. Ashley Jones
  6. Danielle LaMartina
  7. Amanda Machado

  10. Maya Stone
  11. Indrell Thomas
  12. Kasia Topor
  13. Natalie Rae Wolfe
  14. Katharine Younger

FITNESS

Sara Kovach

The defending champion of this contest will go back-to-back and win again in Illinois.

Aurika Tyrgale

Tyrgale was 10th at the 2021 Olympia, and she has four wins, including this contest in 2020.

Cong Mou

Mou was the runner-up in Puerto Rico earlier in the season. Her routines are memorable, and that is two-thirds of the score in Fitness. Keep that in mind.

  1. Danielle Chikeles
  2. Heather Coscia
  3. Michelle Fredua-Mensah
  4. Michelle Gales
  5. Corina Harkelroad
  6. Sara Kovach
  7. Tess Mikayla
  8. Cong Mou
  9. Babette Mulford
  10. Aurika Tyrgale

FIGURE

This division has been so unpredictable because the athletes are all so competitive. These shows have literally been coming down to who has the best day onstage. None of these athletes were in the Olympia last year. We think the top three are going to be Danielle Rose, Melissa Brodsky, and Julia Champlin, in that order.

Danielle Rose

Melissa Brodsky

Julia Champlin

  1. Melissa Brodsky
  2. Julia Champlin

  14. Danielle Rose
  15. Chie Terui
  16. Kayoko Yamamoto

BIKINI

Jessica Wilson, Vania Auguste, and Jasmine Gonzalez were all in the 2021 Olympia. Wilson was 11th while the other two ladies finished outside the top 15. Those are likely the top three at this show, and we think Wilson will seal the deal and the Olympia qualification by placing first.

  13. Jessica Wilson
  14. Jodie Yuncker

WELLNESS

Last but not least is the popular Wellness division. Isamara Santos finished in 7th at the Olympia, and she is the favorite in this lineup of eight competitors. Jasmine Payne has finished second twice this season. So, she must be considered a contender. Rounding out the top three will be Brooke Donnelly.
