2022 Orlando Pro Report

The 2022 Orlando Pro men’s open contest is now in the history books. As many expected, including us here at Muscle Insider, Hassan Mostafa won his second consecutive contest, and he now has a lot of momentum in his favor while the 2022 IFBB Pro League season continues. The placings from Orlando are as follows.

1. Hassan Mostafa

With great lighting and a lineup of competitors that were on point, this turned out to be a fantastic contest, and Mostafa can hold his head high as the champion. The judges placed him first in both prejudging and finals, and it’s clear why. His muscular density combined with razor sharp conditioning stood out in a very competitive lineup. He is scheduled to compete in the Arnold U.K. but if he chooses to take time off to prepare for the 2022 Olympia, then he can do so with a lot of confidence.

Speaking of the Olympia, Mostafa was already qualified thanks to his first win in Puerto Rico. That means no Olympia qualification will be awarded from this contest. The second through fifth place finishers earn points in the qualifying system, which could help them move on to the Olympia if they finish in the top three of that group.

  • Trained by AJ Simms
  • Outstanding conditioning and muscle fullness.
  • Needs to improve posing for the Olympia, especially with transitions.
  • Midsection needs to be much tighter.

2. Andrea Presti

Andrea Presti may have looked the best he ever had at this contest. His only issue was going up against a competitor in Mostafa that had more dense muscle and momentum going into the show. Presti’s upper body looked very impressive from all sides. He had been working on the quads and it showed, but a little more outer sweep would serve him well. There is no word on what show he will do next, but whichever contest it is, he will be in the mix.

  • Very good showing in prejudging.
  • Legs need to get bigger to improve overall balance.
  • Long torso gives his body a "high lat" appearance.
  • Good upper back but needs more development in the mid back and lower lats.
  • Triceps need more development to match extraordinary biceps development.

3. Phil Clahar

We had mentioned Clahar in our predictions for this show, and he proved us right for doing so. His front poses are very impressive, and he’s improved significantly in his time away from the stage. The only issue he had was that he looked slightly flat in prejudging, which is what bumped him down to third place. However, he was able to adjust accordingly, and his physique looked much better in the finals. If he can bring his finals look in Orlando to the prejudging of his next show, he will contend for the win.

  • Missed his peak and was flat during prejudging.
  • Older athlete
  • Largest competitor in show
  • Great X-frame
  • Working with George Farah.

4. Maxx Charles

  • Was being trained by Milos Sarcev in the past, now trained by Dennis Wolf.
  • Doe not seem to be getting better.

5. Tonio Burton

  • Judges feedback is that he needs to display his lats better in front poses.
  • Came from 212 Class, needs to work on his posing.
  • Needs to continue to add more quality muscle overall.

6. Jonas Giatras

7. Rasheed Oldacre

  • Incredible mass
  • Needs better conditioning.
  • Must also bring in midsection.

8. Matt Kouba

  • Very well conditioned.
  • Balanced physique
  • Needs more overall size to move up the IFBB Pro league ranks.

9. Martin Hernandez

  • Great conditioning but needs more overall size, especially in arms.

10. Jason Lowe

  • Open Class debut

11. Jameil Hamilton

12. Walter Martin
